How a Berlin café’s first website got 2,280 Google clicks in five weeks

Café Peri had 3,532 Google reviews but no website, so Google and AI assistants had nothing of its own to show. We built a fast one-page site in German, with English and Turkish switches. In its first five weeks of Search Console data it got 2,280 clicks at an average position of 3.2.

Where they started

Café Peri on Potsdamer Straße is a Turkish café known for its breakfast, kumpir and künefe. When we started in August 2026 it had 3,532 Google reviews and a 4.7★ rating, but no website.

Without a website, Google and AI assistants had nothing of the café’s own to show. Searches for its menu, its halal food or its opening hours went to other sites, and when people asked an AI assistant for a Turkish breakfast near Potsdamer Platz, there was no Café Peri page for it to cite.

One in three of the café’s written reviews (34.5%) isn’t in German, so the site had to work for visitors as well as for locals.

What we did

Planned the page around real searches

We mapped each section of the page to the searches that matter most to the café, from Turkish breakfast and kumpir to halal food near Potsdamer Platz, and wrote it in German with English and Turkish versions.

Why it works: a page that answers the exact question someone typed is the page Google prefers to show.

Built it for phones first

Address, click-to-call and directions sit above the fold, and on phones call and directions stay pinned to the bottom of the screen. Below them: the menu highlights, the halal and prayer room information, opening hours, the terrace, an FAQ, a map and a table booking link.

Why it works: most people looking for a café are on a phone and want to know three things fast: what’s on, is it open, how do I get there.

Made it readable for Google and AI tools

Restaurant and FAQ structured data, clear titles and descriptions, compressed images with alt text, a canonical address, and Search Console, a sitemap and GA4 set up on launch day, 24 August.

Why it works: structured data tells Google and AI assistants exactly what the business is, so they can show it and cite it.

Before the site existed, none of this was possible: no clicks, no impressions and no appearances in Google’s AI answers, because there was no Café Peri page to show.
