Three businesses get the map.
Be one of them.
When someone searches nearby, Google shows three businesses and a map. Being fourth means being behind a tap that most people never make. We engineer the relevance and prominence that decide which three appear.

Our local SEO strategy
-
01
Take control of the assets
Ownership of the Business Profile first, because everything else depends on being able to edit it.
-
02
Make relevance obvious
Categories, services and location pages that state exactly what you do and where you do it.
-
03
Build prominence locally
Mentions, links and directory records from the places that actually describe your area.
-
04
Keep reviews arriving
A repeatable ask, a reply to every review, and no shortcuts that put the listing at risk.
Local SEO is the work of getting a business found in the results Google attaches to a place: the map pack, Google Maps, and the “near me” queries that carry a location whether or not the searcher types one. It runs on a different signal set to organic SEO, and it is judged inside a box that shows three businesses at a time.
Three slots decide the whole search
Organic search gives you ten chances on a page. Local search gives you three, and the searcher usually picks one of them before scrolling anywhere else. That makes the economics harsher and the work more specific.
Fourth place is close to invisible
The map pack is a shortlist rather than a page of options. Ranking fourth puts you behind an extra tap, and the traffic difference between third and fourth is far larger than the one place suggests.
Distance is fixed, the rest is not
Google weighs relevance, distance and prominence when it builds a local result. You cannot move your premises closer to every searcher, so the honest plan is to win on the two signals you can genuinely change.
Reviews count more here
Volume, recency and whether the business replies all shape a local result and a searcher’s decision inside it. The Google reviews further down this page are our own, so that section is an example of the asset described here.
What you can influence, and what you cannot
Agencies sell local SEO as though every signal is available for purchase. Some of it is fixed by geography. Setting that out first is the only way to agree on what success looks like before we start.
| Signal | Can you influence it? | How |
|---|---|---|
| Proximity | Not directly | Distance from the searcher is set by your address. A second genuine location changes it, an invented one gets you suspended. |
| Relevance | Yes | Categories, services, attributes and location pages that describe what you do in the words people search for. |
| Prominence | Yes, over months | Local links, press, directory records and a consistent identity across the web that Google can resolve to one business. |
| Reviews | Yes, within the rules | A repeatable ask at the right moment, replies to every review, and no incentives that break Google’s policies. |
| Categories | Yes, immediately | One accurate primary category plus supporting ones. This is often the fastest single change available on a neglected profile. |
Who this is for
Local SEO pays back fastest when the customer has to reach you, or when you have to reach them, and the search happens close to the moment of deciding.
Businesses customers travel to
Clinics, workshops, showrooms, restaurants and anywhere a searcher checks the top listings and calls one of them within a minute. The map pack is the whole shopfront for these searches, and the profile does more selling than the website.
Multi-location brands
Every branch competes in its own map result, which means every branch needs its own profile, its own reviews and a landing page that reads as though it was written for that address. Templated pages with a swapped city name rarely hold.
Service-area businesses
Trades, mobile services and installers who visit the customer instead of hosting them. Configuring service areas correctly, and accepting that reach falls off with distance, matters more here than anywhere else in the setup.
Listings that broke
Suspended profiles, duplicate records, a merged listing carrying someone else’s reviews, or an address change that never propagated. Recovery work is slow and procedural, and it comes before any attempt at ranking.
How our local SEO process works
Six steps in a fixed order, because half of local SEO is housekeeping that has to be correct before anything else can be measured.
-
1
Take ownership of the assets
We confirm you control the Google Business Profile, find duplicate or unclaimed listings, and check for suspensions or hard edits sitting in the account. Nothing else is worth doing until you can edit your own listing.
-
2
Rebuild the profile
Primary and secondary categories, services with real descriptions, hours, attributes, products and photographs. Completeness is the cheapest relevance signal available, and most profiles are missing half of it.
-
3
Set the service areas
We define the areas you genuinely serve rather than every town within an hour. Overstating coverage dilutes relevance and produces enquiries you have to turn down, which costs you time and eventually a review.
-
4
Build location pages worth ranking
One page per location, written with the staff, the directions, the local work and the questions that address actually gets asked. Structured with Entity Structuring so each branch resolves cleanly.
-
5
Fix citations and earn local links
Name, address and phone number made identical across the directories that matter, duplicates removed, then coverage from local press, suppliers, associations and community sites that carry real local weight.
-
6
Run the review system
A defined moment in your process where every customer is asked, a short link that removes friction, and a reply written for every review that arrives. Then monthly reporting on rankings, calls and direction requests.

Questions we get asked
What is local SEO?
Local SEO is the work of getting a business found in results that Google attaches to a place, mainly the map pack and Google Maps. It runs on Business Profile quality, location relevance, reviews and local prominence rather than on site-wide authority alone.
Why does the map pack only show three businesses?
Google shows three local results above a link to the full map. Anything below those three sits behind a tap that most searchers never make, so the drop in visibility between third and fourth place is much steeper than the equivalent drop in organic results.
Can you rank us in a city where we have no address?
Sometimes, and it gets harder the further the searcher is from your registered location. Distance is a ranking factor you cannot edit. What we can do is configure your service areas honestly, build genuine local relevance and win the searches where you are a plausible answer.
Will you buy reviews for us?
No. Incentivised and fabricated reviews break Google’s policies and put the listing at risk of suspension, which costs far more than the reviews were ever worth. We build a system that asks real customers at the right moment and replies to every review you receive.
Should we add keywords to our business name?
No. Your Google Business Profile name has to match the name you trade under in the real world. Stuffing services or a city into it is a common tactic and a reportable violation, and competitors do report it. Suspension removes you from the map entirely.
How does this differ from your organic SEO service?
Organic SEO competes for a position in the blue links across any location. Local SEO competes for a place in a map result that Google filters by distance first. The technical foundations overlap, and most businesses with a physical presence need both.

We will check your Business Profile, map your position across the area you serve, and send you the list of fixes in priority order. If the biggest problem is a suspension or a duplicate listing, we will say so first.
